Director of Group Events



The Director of Group Events will lead and direct the Group Event and Catering Department team to plan and execute extraordinary golf and catering/wedding events. The Director of Group Events will manage and direct a team of Meeting and Special Event Planners (MSEs), who together as a team are responsible for maintaining excellent client relationships. The Director of Group Events is directly responsible for insuring that details for each event are developed with the client and communicated to the department heads within the established standards and timelines. The Director of Group Events is responsible to coordinate, direct and execute all group golf events, catering events and weddings, and securing and maintaining/organizing all banquet equipment, assets, etc. associated with the banquet department. The Director of Group Events indirectly supervises the outside operations department relative to group events and VIP guests and other operational standards within the department.


  • Serve on the Senior Management Executive Committee
  • Maintain the Banquet Sales Pace Report
  • Direct the Group Event and Catering Department
  • Developing a positive work environment for the Group Event and Catering Department
  • Maintaining excellent client relationships and communications
  • Prepare BEOs for departments & reviews BEOs at the weekly staff
  • Service & maintain relationships with group contacts on and off property
  • Facilitate group events on the day of play
  • Plan and execute banquet food/beverage service
  • Responsible for all billing relative to group events
  • Responsible for scheduling and training the service banquet team
  • Responsible for maintaining/organizing banquet equipment
  • Responsible for directing/overseeing the set-up and breakdown of events
  • Responsible for payroll relative to banquet team and direct reports
  • Maintain the event booking calendar


  • Maintain Organization skills
  • Knowledge of Delphi, Microsoft Office, TIB, Vision Perfect, IBS POS,
  • Retail product and pricing in golf shop
  • F&B Menu sales & menu concept
  • Sequence in Service and Banquet Service Skills
  • Golf Industry knowledge, pace of play, operations & game in general
  • People Skills, maintains excellent communication with clients & staff


  • Advises outside service staff on weekly schedule of hourly employees to execute events and manage valet parking
  • Reports weekly guest volume at the hotel & golf course to develop valet schedule.
  • Review F&B master board for accuracy of BEOs
  • Communicates with kitchen on timing of BEOs for food services
  • Serves on the GM Executive Committee to advise on overall managerial issues and employee decision making
  • Assist Director of Golf and Assistant Professionals with larger in-house tournaments, Men’s Club, Seniors Etc.
  • Maintains Vision Perfect Software & Delphi


  • Superior knowledge & professional experience in the golf industry
  • HS Degree, College Degree
  • Computer Skills
  • Banquet Operations Experience


  • Responsible for adhering to staffing guidelines for banquet service team
